King Solomon stands as the wisest man to ever walk the face of the Earth with the exception of the Creator God, (when He humbled Himself to become a man). Solomon's words of wisdom are on display in Proverbs, yet his shortcomings are also chronicled in God's Word. As it turns out, his wisdom - the wisdom of God - did not prevent him from wandering off of the path that God required him to stay on.
We certainly need to do what God's Word commands and ask for wisdom, which He WILL give liberally. In light of the verse below, we had better ask God for a WILLING HEART too.
"I will [not merely walk, but] run the way of Your commandments, when You give me a heart that is willing." Psalm 119:32
Ask, believing, for a willing heart.
